Define your own fields - text, number, select, radio, checkbox, date, URL or text area - and attach them to pages, posts, products or any public post type. Editors fill them in from a clean Custom fields box on the edit screen.
Then drop the [dfaf_filters] shortcode on any page: visitors get a filter form and a responsive results grid. Choice fields become dropdowns or multi-select checklists, numbers become min/max ranges, dates become from/to pickers - and everything combines with tag, category, taxonomy and keyword filters, plus price sorting on products.
Filter products by global attributes (pa_colour, pa_size...) and by custom per-product attributes - the plugin indexes those into fast, queryable meta on every product save, so filtering never parses serialized data. No WooCommerce? Fields and filters still work on posts and pages.

Install Demfilz Fields and Filters, open Fields & Filters in your admin menu and define your fields - text, number, select, radio buttons, checkbox, date or URL. Each field appears in a Custom fields box on the edit screen of the post types you choose, so editors just fill them in. No code or theme changes needed.
Both kinds of WooCommerce attributes are supported. Global attributes (pa_colour, pa_size and so on) filter through the shortcode's taxonomies parameter. Custom per-product attributes are indexed automatically whenever a product is saved, and filter through the attributes parameter. There is also a one-click Rebuild attribute index button for products that existed before the plugin was installed.
